Hereford Hasler race June 2018

2018 Hereford Hasler
Just when you think the weather for racing couldn't get better, it did! And Solihull turned out in force, coming second only to Worcester who had an even bigger team! Well done to Andrew who was promoted to division 7 despite it being his first ever race with a double ended paddle! Conrad and Julia won division 7 doubles, Alex and Ryan came second in the division 5 doubles and Michael and David won the division 9 canoe doubles. Everyone else picked up points apart from Pete and Anne who decided to participate from the river bank for the second half of their race and Mark who limped home with a helpful canoeist on a camping trip .

2018 Shropshire Hasler
The Solihull racing team with members aged 17 to 70+ had a another fantabulous day of racing in the sun. There were lots of smiles & great results. Top marks to Becky & Liz who won the Division 7 doubles race in their beautiful new blue kayak. And well done to Mark & the Cooks who came 2nd in the Div 4 singles and Div 8 doubles. And team Cook, we thought you were under doctors orders to take it easy!  More valuable points were collected by Alex, Steve, Pete & Anne. It was great to see Steve, Pete & Anne becoming regular racers.

2018 Anker Valley Hasler race June 2018

2018 Anker Valley Hasler
A big Solihull squad raced the Anker Valley Hasler marathon this weekend. Well done everyone, especially those who don't usually race (John), those returning to racing (Jenni, Steve & Ryan) and those racing canoes instead of their preferred kayaks (Julia & Becky)! Top results were achieved by Mark who came 2nd in division 4 K1, Alex & Ellie and Jisimrut & Mehar who came 3rd in divisions 8 & 9 K2 respectively. Once again it was great to see Pete & Anne back on the water in their C2! Well done team, we earned the maximum points possible for the club. And Ryan, you're don't look like you're working hard enough for someone who was late for the start of the race!

Burton Hasler race June 2018

A historic event occurred at the Burton Hasler race when Pete & Anne Jones returned to competitive paddling in the division 9 event in their beautiful but heavy wooden canoe! If the weight of the canoe was taken into consideration, they would have won, but still achieved an excellent 4th position. Well done to you two. Top positions were achieved by Mehar & Jetta and Julia & Konrad in their K2's who came second in their divisions. And well done to other Solihull paddlers who gained valuable National Hasler club points. And it was another beautiful sunny day out!
