Team Solihull at the Anker Valley Hasler marathon 2019

2019 Anker Hasler
A small, brave team of Solihull paddlers braved the difficult, choppy canal at the Anker Valley Hasler. The younger Lefflers did us proud though, coming 1st & second in their races. The rest of us are working on a cunning plan of lulling the opposition into a false sense of security by achieving average results in the middle of our divisions before peaking later in the year and amazing the opposition with some amazing results!!

Well done Pete for getting a big team on the water for the 2019 Worcester Hasler marathon races. And well done to the Lefflers who accounted for 4 of our 15 racers and our top results on the day. Congratulations to Adam & Amelie who won silver medals in the under 12 & under 10 K1's. Unfortunately there weren't many more outstanding achievements but if there was a medal for enthusiasm, we'd have won it. Ian, Phil, Simon, Alan, Claire, Pete & Anne, your shouts of encouragement on the second lap were greatly appreciated!

Marathon
2019 Devizes Westminister

Respect to our DW race peddlers, Nacho, Alex, Jake & Oliver. Paddling 125 miles over 4 days is a fantastic achievement especially in the heat of the hottest Easter in 70 years. It's a pity Olly had to retire, but well done to the others, especially Nacho who fought all the way for his 3rd place in the senior singles! Bring the medal down to the club on Saturday for us all to see!
