Great results for Tom @ the July 2017 regatta!
Well done Tom Lusty for a great set of results at the July Regatta at National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. And for being rewarded with being selected to represent GB at the Senior World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic in the K1 500m and at U23 World Championships in Piesti, Romania in the K1 1000m and 500m. And well done Oliver Cook who also did well in the C1 category.

It was a beautiful day for swimming but an extremely hot one for paddling with temperatures touching 30 degrees!

Well done again team Solihull. Alex and Ben’s were testing their teamwork in division 6 to see if their plan to do the 125 mile Devizes to Westminister race next year is going to work. Ellie and Adam blew away the competition in the division 9 doubles, also beating the time for both Div 8s and one of the Div 7s!

Liz and Becky are getting faster by the week in their new boat but came fifth to Conrad & Julia's 4th in the division 7 doubles. There's some competitive racing going on between the club mates in these divisions!

In the scorching heat Oliver was looking stylish as ever in his C1 canoe, racing against faster kayaks in Division 7. And Mark, Matthew and Jenni soldiered bravely on to finish.

And thanks to the support team of drivers, cheerleaders and our ever dependable team captains, Pete and Anne who looked quite melted by the end of the day!

Burton Hasler marathon race

Marathon
Well done Team Solihull at the Burton Hasler marathon race.
Liz & Becky were 3rd in Div 7 K2, Bea & Julia were 4th. Ellie & Oscar were 3rd in Div 8, Adam and Tom won Div 9 K2 despite their windmill technique, pushing Pete and Andy into 3rd in a C2. Oliver was 10th in Div 7 K1 and well done to Matthew who finished his Lightning race despite the pain in his shoulder. And welcome back to Div 4 racing, Steve. It was a tough first race of the season so extra bonus points for effort. The club came 3rd overall, so well done and thanks to Burton Phenix for all the hard work & a great race.
